Brighton-based Gerard Maye Legal have announced the opening of a new central London office. As of 30 January, the expert team who specialise in criminal defence and litigation services, can now see clients in London as well as from its Brighton office.
The news follows a strategic shift and change of focus for the long-established firm, which has seen it substantially increase the amount of work it undertakes from private individuals following the demise of legal aid criminal work.
The only Brighton firm to be recognised as leading experts by both Chambers UK and Legal 500, the firm has cemented its position as the premier choice for individuals seeking not only legal advice for criminal matters, but emotional support and reputation management services.
Gerard Maye said: “2017 is shaping up to be an excellent year for us. We have been delighted with the opportunity to represent more clients in London and Brighton, and having a new office allows us to see clients more easily. It has always been key to the firm’s success that we do not follow the market, but lead the way. The changes to the criminal defence market as well as the shift in the delivery of legal services more broadly, means that firm’s must adapt to survive. I am proud that we have been able to position ourselves as a firm that individuals and businesses trust to help them defend their reputation and support them during what is often an emotionally distressing time.”
To support its growth, the firm is keen to hear from ambitious, client-focussed criminal defence and litigation specialists who are looking for a change in role. Candidates are asked to get in touch for an informal discussion.
